The Rabbit And The Turtle — Part 4 (The End)
So now you have permission to not conclude.
But that's not the end of it — because the question that follows is the more important one:
What are you actually here for?
Think about why this science exists at all. Why did the scholars develop a way to evaluate people, detect errors, issue warnings? What was the point?Not to produce a community of judges. Not to keep everyone busy tracking who said what and who is now what. The point was always protection. Protection of the deen — so that knowledge stays clean, so that what reaches you is sound, so that you can actually learn and build on something real.
That's it. The whole machinery exists to serve that goal.
Which means if you're a beginner — the thing that goal is trying to protect is you. Your learning. Your deen. Your ākhirah.
And right now, a lot of what's being pushed at you is pulling you away from exactly that. Time spent tracking names, picking sides, forwarding warnings — that's time not spent learning. That's energy not spent on what actually saves you.
You have farḍ ʿayn(1) in front of you. Things that are obligatory on you personally — your prayer, your understanding of tawḥīd, your character, your relationship with the Qurʾān. Those don't wait. Those are yours and no one carries them for you.The noise around you? That's not yours. It was never yours.
So the redirect is simple, even if it's not easy(2):Let the big ones handle what belongs to them. Trust that they are — and when they move, you'll know. Their silence is not neglect. Their leniency is not weakness. They see what you see, and more, and they've chosen how to carry it.
Your job is to learn.
Your prayer. Your tawḥīd. Your understanding of what your Rabb actually asks of you daily. Knowing enough about who to take your deen from so that what you build is on solid ground. That's what's in front of you.
Not every detail of every dispute. Not a verdict on every name. Just enough to learn safely — and then to actually learn.
If you know someone who is tired of this, who is floating, who doesn't know what to do with the noise around them — this might be worth passing on. Not to win an argument. Just because sometimes people need to hear that they were never required to carry what they've been carrying.
